Winnie
We just got the results on Winnie. She had thyroid cancer that had traveled to her lungs. She also had heartworms. That along with kennel cough -- I would guess she couldn't take any more attacking her lungs.

Pepper
Pepper a senior dog that Lynn C. had been fostering and ending up keeping was also allowed to be free of her pain yesterday. For those who remember, last year a senior gentleman had to be put in a nursing home (temporarily) needed a place for his two small senior dogs. Lynn graciously told him she would take care of them until he came out of the nursing home. He was home after a month but within a week was back in the nursing home and the dogs came back to Lynn. One was adopted out through the shelter but the other who Lynn kept, had heart problems and the prognosis was that she would probably not live more than 6 months. After more than a year she passed yesterday (Aug 19) with heart complications.

Bowe
Say a prayer for sweet Bowe. He passed away this morning. He had a bad day yesterday and didn't want to eat or play. I had a feeling that the end was near. Rest assured that I treated him with pain killers and eye drops so that he he did not hurt in his final days. Yesterday I called my friends over to say goodbye. He got lots of loving and petting. I'm sad for him but the final journey is over. Damn cancer and the family that never came for him.
