Hello! I’d like to introduce to you, Lucy, a spicy-sweet silver beauty who is in foster care with me. This little girl was found alone on the street with no mother and no siblings. She was NOT happy about this, and let her displeasure known, loudly. The person who found her scooped her up and took her to the Humane Shelter, where she was tested for FIV and FeLV, both of which were negative. She was given her first kitten shots and a horrible tasting de-worming medicine. After all that, she was deposited into a small cage in the kitten room, and that’s where I saw her. She was practically standing on her head, begging me to scratch her ears and rub her tummy, and of course, I did. It was right then that a Kind Lady asked if she could bring in a little kitten that she had found in the same area, so after that kitten was treated, I ended up taking both kittens home to foster, Lucy and her identical twin, Lena. Both girls are wonderful! They must be siblings, because they really are alike. They play together, and have basically the same personality. They love to be stroked and scratched, they know their names, and come running when I call them to dinner. They learned where the litter box was quickly and use it reliably. The love chasing small balls or toys all over the house, and have learned how to open the flapper door leading outside to the Catio. They always nap in the warmth of a sunbeam. But neither one likes to be picked up. They always sleep beside me at night or during a nap, and they pause during play for a snack and a pet, but when I want to pick them up for a snuggle, they say “NO!”. These two are bonded, and you may want to consider adopting both, together. Lena had some vision problems when I first got her, and the Kind Lady and I took her to Indianapolis to see a veterinary ophthalmologist who said her vision is close to normal. So, next week, the girls will be ready to go home with their Furever Family. You will be so lucky to be able to be that family to both these girls! They are awesome! If you are interested in meeting these kitties, please fill out an application on line for staff to review or stop in and let staff know so they can contact the foster mom to set up a meet and greet session. Meet and greets occur during adoption hours (Tues-Sun 1-4 and Friday 1 -6). More about Lucy (bonded/w Lena)Good with Cats Other Pictures of Lucy (bonded/w Lena) (click to see larger version):
