If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please stop by to visit and fill out an application. If you do not live in the Terre Haute area, please feel free to contact us by phone or e-mail and we can fax or e-mail you an application!

We are located at 1811 Fruitridge Avenue - approximately two blocks South of Deming Park.

Microchip Your Pet!

Microchips are available to the public for $35 per animal. Microchipping improves the odds of your lost pet being returned to you! Many homeless animals lose their tags, and since they do not have a pocket for a wallet, they have no way to identify themselves!

Our shelter is a non-profit organization, supported by donations and fees, we are NOT a government facility!

Rescue Runs

Other shelters throughout the midwest are helping us find good homes for strays in Vigo County, IN. If you are interested in fostering an animal until we can send it to a rescue, please call 232-0293 and ask for Susan.

Fees

The fee for adopting a dog is $115.00, puppies are $125.00.

The fee for adopting a cat or kitten is $85.00.

This includes:

  • Spay/neuter
  • First vaccinations (not including rabies)
  • Worming
  • Identification tag and microchip
  • Ears cleaned
  • Nails trimmed
  • First office visit at participating veterinary offices
  • Shelter Care pet insurance -one month free when you enroll.

Some select animals may have special adoption fees.
